the story of NicaBella

NicaBella was birthed in the heart of Carolyn and Roger Keeling when vacationing in Costa Rica and later touring various countries in Central America. The culture, the people, the landscape and climate of these countries pulled on their hearts, urging them to return time and time again. From their adventures in the treetops of the rain forest to hiking up volcanoes, their hearts were continuously stirred by the richness of the experiences offered in these countries. Several years ago they began to explore investment opportunities in Costa Rica, but ultimately found everything they wanted here in Nicaragua. The Keelings, along with their daughter Claire, three dogs, three cats and a bird have moved to Nicaragua, fully investing in the future of NicaBella and Hunter Blair, Inc. They now call Nicaragua home.

Carolyn, an Atlanta native who has also lived in North Carolina, California and Europe immediately loved the architectural styles, vibrant colors, and the history found in the Nicaraguan landscape. For over 20 years, Carolyn has been involved in building, design, home decoration, and art, focusing on creativity combined with functional elegance. She has held management positions in various businesses, including Director of Piedmont Craftsmen, one of the Southeast's largest galleries. For the past ten years, she has been co-founder of Hunter Blair Homes, specializing in luxury custom homes. She and her husband have received numerous awards and recognition for their designs from Southern Living Magazine, Builder Magazine, Street of Dreams and the Georgia Homebuilders Association.

Ursula Webster is NicaBella's stateside presence. As president and founder of Galaxy Bright, a graphic design company in Atlanta, she is able to structure many successful business processes necessary for NicaBella. Her design experience gives her a great eye for design, color, texture, and working all these elements together for a beautiful and exciting room or home.
